New book to be released for one of our own registrars

May 2 2017

Congratulations to Dr Afiniki Akanet, one of our Warwickshire registrars, on her upcoming book release, Life Without Coffee: Choosing happiness over stress.

Out in May and available for pre-order, Dr Akanet said, “It is my first UK-published book and I am very excited about getting the word out there.”

Written from the life and experience of NHS medical doctor, entrepreneur and mother – Dr Afiniki Akanet, the book inspires the reader to reflect on their patterns of life and work, with the aim of setting realistic goals, living intentionally and enjoying the life they create.

“You can live the wonderful life you desire, and even make a difference in your world, without always feeling stressed and unhappy” explains the author. “This book is all about sharing how I do it, and giving people a chance to pause, examine their lives and set achievable goals when they discover something better than coffee! I do not claim to have all the answers, but I have shared real truths that work and I am excited about the real difference this book can make to many lives.”

Dr Akanet has also been invited to accept an Associate in Training (AiT) award from the Royal College of General Practitioners for her upcoming book. The award is given to GP trainees who have done something exceptional and will be presented by the president of RCGP at the awards evening on 4th May 2017.
